A shop that widens for a sale.
Two shop servers run all year, and two more join them for a sale weekend. Each one answers SSH 38 seconds after its create command.
What it needs
The parts a shop runs on.
Pages that stay quick under load, carts that survive a restart, and orders kept safe. Shop software built for MySQL and Redis runs on it unchanged.
Servers for the sale
Create two more shop servers the morning a sale starts, and delete them when it ends. Each joins the load balancer on its first passing health check.
Requests spread across servers
The load balancer runs as a pair on separate hosts. It sends requests only to shop servers that pass their health checks.
MySQL with a standby
Managed MySQL 8.4 LTS keeps the catalogue and the orders. Its standby confirms each transaction, so a failover loses no acknowledged write.
Carts in Valkey
Valkey holds carts and sessions, so a customer keeps their basket whichever server answers the next click.
Product images over S3
Keep images and downloads in a bucket, and point the shop’s S3 plugin at
https://s3.ee1.logi-ciel.coor your region’s endpoint.20 TB per server
Each server includes 20 TB of outbound traffic, pooled across the project. Each further TB costs €1.00, and inbound traffic is not billed.
A month of it
A shop with one big sale.
Two shop servers run all month, and two more run for a sale weekend. Beside them run MySQL with a standby, Valkey for carts and a bucket of product images.
The sale servers run for three days and are deleted after it. The month assumes traffic stays inside the 20 TB each server includes, and VAT is extra.

Start with one server and one command.
Choose a region and a plan, and add an SSH key. The server answers SSH 38 seconds after the command, at the price on its spec sheet.
