Riga

A data centre in the east of Riga, on hydro power from the Daugava. Its waste heat warms homes through the city’s district heating. It runs GPU servers as well as everything else.

The data centre

lv1 is a hall in a data centre in Šķirotava, an industrial district in the east of the city. Its power comes from the hydro plants on the Daugava under long-term contracts. Two feeds from separate substations reach the hall, with batteries and generators to carry it through a fault.

Outside air cools the hall for most of the year, and the GPU racks run on direct liquid cooling. The heat they carry away goes into Riga’s district heating network.

Two upstream carriers reach the site on separate routes, and the region peers at LIX, the Latvian internet exchange. Fibre runs overland to Tallinn in the north and Vilnius in the south.

The region suits services for Latvia and Lithuania, and GPU work in the north of the EU. Riga and Milan are the two regions with GPU servers, and Tallinn is 5 ms away for a replica.

A GPU server here is one command, and buckets beside the cards answer at https://s3.lv1.logi-ciel.co.

$ lc server create infer-1 --plan g-l40s --region lv1 \
    --image ubuntu-24.04-nvidia --ssh-key me

Start with one server and one command.

Choose a region and a plan, and add an SSH key. The server answers SSH 38 seconds after the command, at the price on its spec sheet.

logi-ciel is a design concept

This site is a portfolio piece by Soheyb. The brand, the pages and the price list are real design work; the cloud behind them is not. There’s no console to sign in to, and no server to rent.
