Managed PostgreSQL, with a standby on another host.
Choose a version and a plan, and we run the server, the backups, the minor upgrades and the failover. A standby takes over within 30 seconds of the primary’s failure.
From €14.90 a month
Features
The work around the database, done for you.
PostgreSQL 16, 17 and 18
Minor releases install in your maintenance window. Major upgrades run with
pg_upgradewhen you choose, and you can try one on a copy first.Automatic failover
A standby on another host follows the primary by streaming replication. After 15 seconds of failed health checks, it takes over the primary’s address.
Point-in-time recovery
Daily backups and continuous WAL archiving restore to any second of the last seven days, into a separate database.
The extensions you expect
PostGIS, pgvector, pg_stat_statements, pg_trgm, pgcrypto and dozens more, each turned on with
CREATE EXTENSION.Connection pooling
PgBouncer runs beside each node in transaction mode, for apps that open many short connections.
Private and encrypted
Databases listen on your private network only, with TLS required. Storage and backups are encrypted at rest.
Pricing
One price per node, backups included.
Each plan is one node with its storage and daily backups. A standby node for failover costs the same again.
PostgreSQL and MySQL
| Plan | vCPU | Memory | A month, at most |
|---|---|---|---|
db-1 | 1 | 2 GB | €14.90 |
db-2 | 2 | 4 GB | €26.90 |
db-4 | 4 | 16 GB | €69.90 |
db-8 | 8 | 32 GB | €139.90 |
Read replicas cost the price of their plan, as a standby does.
Code
A database in one command.
lc db creates the database on your private network. It prints the address when the database is ready, about 3 minutes later.
- A standby on another host, with
--standby. - An address on your private network, and none in public.
- Credentials you rotate with one command.
$ lc db create orders --engine postgresql --version 18 \
--plan db-2 --region it1 --network acme-net --standby
Creating orders in it1 ... primary ready, standby streaming
Host orders.db.acme-shop.internal
Port 5432 (pooler 6432)
$ psql "postgres://app@orders.db.acme-shop.internal/orders?sslmode=verify-full"

Questions
Questions about managed PostgreSQL.
How does failover work?
Do I get superuser access?
CREATEDB and CREATEROLE that can install the supported extensions. Superuser stays with us, so that backups and failover keep working. Can I move a database in or out?
pg_dump, or by logical replication from the server you run today. Take a dump or replicate out the same way whenever you like.Works with
Private networks
Connect servers, clusters, databases and file storage on addresses of your own, across all 6 regions. Networks and their traffic are not billed.
Cloud servers
AMD EPYC vCPUs, an NVMe disk and 20 TB of traffic a month. Shared vCPUs for most work, and dedicated ones for steady load.
Backups and snapshots
Daily backups of a server, the last seven kept, and snapshots of servers and volumes whenever you take them. Restore a server in place, or start a copy beside it.
Start with one server and one command.
Choose a region and a plan, and add an SSH key. The server answers SSH 38 seconds after the command, at the price on its spec sheet.
