FAQ

What people ask before they create a server.

Accounts, billing, your data, servers and the network. Each figure in an answer comes from the same data as the price list and the regions page.

Getting started

What do I need to open an account?
An email address and a payment method, by card or SEPA direct debit. A company also gives its VAT number, so the invoice shows the right VAT.
How do I create my first server?

In the console, choose a plan, a region and an image, then add your SSH key. The median from create to SSH is 38 seconds.

From the command line it takes one command: lc server create web-1 --plan s-2 --region ee1 --image debian-13 --ssh-key me.

Which tools can I use?
The console, the lc command line for Linux, macOS and Windows, the REST API and the logiciel provider for Terraform and OpenTofu. All four call the same API at https://api.logi-ciel.co/v1, and every image runs cloud-init on first boot.
Is there a trial period?
No. A server is billed from the hour it is created, and the s-1 plan costs €0.0056 an hour. Delete the server after the test, and billing stops at that hour.
Can several people work in one project?
Yes. Invite them to the project and give each person a role: owner, member or billing. Every action they take goes into the project’s audit log.

Billing

How is a resource billed?
By each hour started, from its creation to its deletion, running or stopped, up to its monthly price. The s-1 plan costs €0.0056 an hour and at most €3.49 a month.
When does billing start and stop?
At the hour a resource is created and the hour it is deleted. A stopped server is billed like a running one. To stop billing for a server, take a snapshot and delete it.
How do I see a project’s costs for the month?
In the console, or with GET /v1/usage?month=2026-10, which returns each resource’s hours and cost. The invoice lists the same hours.
How and when do I pay?
The invoice for a month goes out on the first of the next, with each resource’s hours listed. Payment is by card or SEPA direct debit, and prices exclude VAT.
What does traffic cost?
Each server includes 20 TB of outbound traffic a month, pooled across a project’s servers. Each further TB costs €1.00. Inbound traffic and traffic on a private network are not counted.
Do prices differ between regions?
No. Each price is the same in every region, in euros. The s-2 plan in Vienna costs what it costs in Milan.

Your data

Where is my data stored?
In the region you choose. All 6 regions are inside the EU, and backups and snapshots stay in the resource’s region. We copy data to another region only when you do.
Who can see my data?

You and the people with a role in the project. Our engineers don’t read customer data as part of their work.

Repair work on a host that holds your data takes a ticket and a second engineer, and each session is recorded. The security page has the details.

Is my data encrypted?
Yes. Volumes, snapshots, backups and buckets are encrypted at rest with AES-256, under keys held per project. The console, the API and object storage accept only TLS.
Do you offer a data processing agreement?
Yes. The data processing agreement is part of the terms of service and applies to every account without a signature. We send a signed copy on request.
What happens to my data when I close my account?
We delete every resource and its data within 30 days of the account closing. Export volumes, snapshots and buckets before you close it.

Servers

What is the difference between shared and dedicated vCPUs?
Shared vCPUs suit most work, which is idle more often than not. A dedicated vCPU is a thread on a core that no other customer uses. It suits databases, builds and work that runs near full load.
Which operating systems can I run?
Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux and Arch Linux, each with cloud-init. You can also upload your own image in qcow2 or raw format.
Can I change a server’s plan later?
Yes, with a reboot. A larger plan can take its larger disk or keep the one it has. A smaller plan works as long as the disk keeps its size.
How do backups differ from snapshots?
Backups run every day on their own and cost 20% of the server’s price. A snapshot is a copy you take when you choose, billed by the GB it holds. You can create a server from either.
Do you offer GPU servers?
Yes. The g-l4, g-l40s and g-h100 plans each carry one NVIDIA L4, L40S or H100 card. They run only in Milan (it1) and Riga (lv1).

Networking

Does every server get a public address?
Yes. Each server has an IPv4 address and an IPv6 /64, with no extra charge. A floating IPv4 address, which you can move between servers, costs €0.0030 an hour.
Can servers in different regions talk privately?
Yes. One private network reaches all 6 regions, and its traffic is not billed. Tallinn to Riga is 5 ms, and the regions page lists every pair.
Are firewalls included?
Yes, with no charge. A firewall is stateful, holds as many rules as you need and applies to servers by label. It filters traffic on the host, before it reaches the server.
How are attacks on my servers handled?
Every region filters large floods of traffic at its edge, with no charge. For attacks aimed at your application, put a firewall and a load balancer in front of your servers.

logi-ciel is a design concept

This site is a portfolio piece by Soheyb. The brand, the pages and the price list are real design work; the cloud behind them is not. There’s no console to sign in to, and no server to rent.
